Make a difference. Every day.
Are you passionate about caring for new parents and newborns? Do you think that community and friendly colleagues are important for thriving? Then you might be the one we are looking for!
The Women’s Health Care Unit (VO) at Skåne University Hospital (Sus) has approximately 800 employees and consists of gynecological and obstetric services in both Lund and Malmö. As a university hospital, we also have assignments in research, development, and education. Within the unit, successful research is conducted, and several midwives are doctoral candidates. A research group is led by a professor in the field of sexual, reproductive, and perinatal health.
In the obstetrics area, we have delivery wards, maternity wards, specialist maternal care, and ultrasound services in both Lund and Malmö. The VO Women’s Health Care at Sus is one of the three largest maternity care services in Sweden.
The maternity ward in Lund is a highly specialized unit for pre- and postnatal care. Here, we receive patients from all over southern Sweden who have experienced complications during their pregnancy from week 22+0. We have a close collaboration with the Delivery Department, Neonatal Department, and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The maternity ward has 24 beds, of which 8 are for pregnant women with complications and 16 are for those who have given birth with complications or whose children are being cared for in the neonatal unit. Adjacent to the ward, there is a follow-up clinic and a breastfeeding clinic. In the fall of 2023, we started a home maternity care service.
RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for nurses for our maternity ward!
On the maternity ward, midwives, nurses, nursing assistants, and doctors work together around the patient. We are divided into teams consisting of a midwife/nurse and a nursing assistant who together are responsible for their patients. In the unit, we work with both complicated and normal processes surrounding pregnancy and postpartum care. We also care for patients who are to be delivered by planned cesarean section and pregnant women starting labor induction.
In your role as a nurse, you will work with the newly delivered woman, the newborn child, and the new family, focusing on breastfeeding support and care for both parent and child with the goal of providing the best care and start for the entire family.
With us, you will be offered an interesting and stimulating job where you have good opportunities to further develop within obstetrics. As a new colleague, you will receive an individually tailored introduction. Your development is important to us, and we therefore have continuous further education. We have a follow-up clinic; if you have specialist competence relevant to the assignment, it may be possible to work at the clinic.
QUALIFICATIONS
We welcome you who are a licensed nurse with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale are a requirement. It is an advantage if you have work experience in women’s or pediatric healthcare.
We are looking for someone who can contribute energy and joy to our unit and who has a strong interest in development, learning, and women’s healthcare. You see the value of good collaboration and contribute to this by sharing your knowledge and experiences. Your engagement and positive attitude contribute to a good work climate, where we all help each other and collaborate to achieve the best quality of care for our patients. In our daily work, changes often arise; adapting to these and adjusting to a new situation requires abilities such as overview, planning, and structure. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
Extracts from the suspicion and criminal record will be made before any employment.
We apply ongoing selection. Warmly welcome your application today; we look forward to getting to know you!
